
Finding balance between preparing to write and writing.
When we think about writing novels, it feels like an enormous task. “Write novel” is not an appropriate item for a to-do list. And yet we carry it around, like a cement block around our necks, for large chunks of our lives.
Often the reason we get trapped in preparing to write, endlessly developing characters, researching topics until we could get advanced degrees in the topics in the book, is that we are scared we can’t accomplish a task this large.
